Putting Your Clients in an iBOT®
A Unique Evaluation and Sales Process

1. Prequalification

The iBOT® Mobility System is a prescription product and may not be suitable for every client. Please review the contraindications or call us toll-free at 1-866-813-0761 to determine if the iBOT® Mobility System is right for your patient. Test drives are available in select locations throughout the country. (Full listing of iBOT® Mobility System Evaluation Centers)

2. Assessment

If your client successfully meets the prequalification criteria, an Assessment will be performed by an authorized clinician. The clinician will verify that the client meets the necessary prequalification, will provide an orientation to the product, and will evaluate your client’s physical, cognitive, and perceptual skills to operate the product safely and effectively. That evaluation will result in the clinician making a recommendation. If the recommendation is that the consumer is appropriate for the product the clinician may need to write a Letter of Justification that will provide the basis for necessity to support the reimbursement process. Because the iBOT® Mobility System allows a person to climb stairs alone or with an assistant, we recommend that your client have an assistant present during this evaluation.

3. Delivery Training

If an authorized clinician determines that the iBOT® Mobility System is appropriate based on the Assessment, then Delivery Training and successful completion of the Driver's Test are required for your client to take ownership of the iBOT® Mobility System. A trained Independence Technology Product Consultant and/or Clinician will instruct your patient on how to use the functions of the iBOT® Mobility System safely and effectively. The Driver’s Test will be administered upon completion of training. It is recommended that an assistant be present with your client for assisted stair climbing.

Note: The cost of the assessment and delivery training is separate from the product cost and is determined by, charged by, and payable to the clinic. Training time is dependent on your client’s learning curve.
